Anna Elendt lowered her German 100m breaststroke record to 1:05.58 in the final at the 2022 Pro Swim Series meet in San Antonio.

The 20-year-old, who won 100br bronze among three medals at the 2018 European Junior Championships, had already cracked 1:06 for the first time in the prelims when she went 1:05.96 to take over half a second off her previous mark of 1:06.50 from the German Championships in June 2021.

Elendt returned for the final where she split 30.92/34.66 to finish second behind Lilly King who clocked 1:05.32.

King goes second in the rankings behind only Reona Aoki who set a Japanese record of 1:05.19 at the national World Championship trials in early March with Elendt third.
