Andrew Seliskar Moves Boys 17-18 200 Breaststroke NAG into Dangerous Territory

ORLANDO, Florida, March 21. NATIONS Capital’s Andrew Seliskar moved the boy’s 17-18 200 breaststroke National Age Group record into dangerous territory on the fourth night of the NCSA Junior National Championships.

Seliskar, who has been conspicuously absent from the individual events so far at the championship meet, entered with a bang and a new NAG in the 200 breaststroke. Seliskar, who is only 17 years old, raced to a 1:52.21 in the men’s A final. His time cut over a second off Cordes’ 1:53.55 record.

Seliskar built into the event, making it apparent by the third 50 (in which he split a 28.8) that he wanted the record for his own. We should also mention that to qualify first in finals, Seliskar swam a 1:54.32 in prelims, a time that cut a second and a half off his previous best time. Doing the math, that’s over three and a half seconds cut in a single event in a single day.
