Indiana’s Andrew Capobianco successfully defended his 3m national title on Friday night at the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships in Greensboro with 505.20 points. Capobianco last won the title as a freshman in 2019 as he won ahead of Texas’ Jordan Windle (484.60), the winner of last night’s 1m title.

Texas scored 23 points in the 3m with Windle and Noah Dueperre in the B-Final as the Longhorns have a 46 points lead over Cal.

LSU’s Juan Hernandez finished third overall at 452.50 to add to his same finish in the 1m last night. He finished ahead of ACC rivals Anton Down-Jenkins (450.05) of North Carolina and Brodie Scapens (413.75) of Miami.

Tennessee’s Matthew Wade (411.65), Ohio State’s Jacob Siler (385.60) and North Carolina’s Alexander Hart (346.75) also competed in the championship final.

Indiana now has nine NCAA titles in 3m diving as Capobianco joins Ken Sitzberger (1965, 1967), Jim Henry (1969, 1970), Brian Bungum (1976, 1977), Robert Bollinger (1981), and himself (2019) as winners of the event for the Hoosiers. Indiana is solidly in fifth place through 13 events as a team.
