The national swimming federation for Argentina, CADDA, has announced their six-member team for the upcoming 2016 World Short Course Championships. The meet, known colloquially to many as ‘Short Course Worlds,’ will be held in Windsor, Canada from December 6-11.

Athletes qualified at the “Selective” which was held from September 22-24 at the Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de Santa Fe.

Santiago Grassi, a member of Argentina’s Rio Olympic team, will arguably be the most well-known name on the roster. The Argentine holds the National Record in both the 100 (51.73) and 200 (1:56.30) SCM butterfly races, as well as the 50 (23.90) and 100 (52.09) LCM butterflies. At the Rio Olympic Games Grassi finished 24th in the 100-LCM fly with a 52.56.

Andrea Berrino will headline the women’s side for the Championship meet. Berrino is currently the National Record holder in an astounding four LCM events and two SCM events. Berrino qualified in both the 50 (27.05) and 100 (58.06) SCM backstroke events, lowering her own National Record of 58.60 to a 58.06 to qualify in the 100.
