Amsterdam Training Partners Arno Kamminga, Caspar Corbeau & Tes Schouten On Netherlands Team For Doha Worlds

Training partners Arno Kamminga, Tes Schouten and Caspar Corbeau are among an 18-strong Netherlands squad headed for the World Championships in February 2024.

The trio, who train together with Kenzo Simons at the High Performance Centre Amsterdam, will each compete in the 100 and 200m breaststroke at the Doha worlds with the swimming programme running from 11-18 February.

All of them left the recent European Short-Course Championships in Otopeni with a gold and bronze apiece in individual events as Netherlands swimmers won six of 18 available breaststroke medals.

Kamminga won 100br silver in both the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and in the latter shared in an historic three-way tie with Nicolo Martinenghi and Nic Fink, both of whom will be in Doha.

Corbeau is seeking his first worlds medal for the Netherlands while Schouten claimed 200 bronze earlier this year in Fukuoka.

Also on the team is Marrit Steenbergen, who claimed her first senior medals with double relay silver at the 2015 worlds in Kazan, Russia, while Kira Toussaint will look to add to her mixed medley bronze at Budapest 2022.

Relay qualification will be confirmed in Doha with the Netherlands entering teams in the 4 x 100 free women, 4 x 200 free women, 4 x 100 relay women, 4 x 100 medley men, 4 x 100 free mixed and 4 x 100 medley mixed.
