OKLAHOMA CITY – This weekend, as part of dueling pro-am meets in Oklahoma City, the American Energy Elite Pro-Am had a pretty stacked set of professionals to take part in the contest.

With Nathan Adrian as the featured attraction, plenty of other Olympians and National Teamers also made their way to Oklahoma City to swim for cash in the meet spearheaded by three-time gold medalist Josh Davis.

Breeja Larson and Cody Miller wound up taking down American records on the final day of competition, in a meet that feature plenty of other stars.

Among the stars in attendance were Darian Townsend, Breeja Larson, Lara Jackson, David Plummer, Josh Schneider, Megan Romano, Maya DiRado and Brendan McHugh.  Not to mention 15-year-old pro Michael Andrew, who has developed a strong relationship with Davis as one of his mentors in the USRPT movement.

Davis put on a fun, holiday-inspired, post-meet celebration with all the pros in attendance, and has been so kind as to provide Swimming World with some of the pictures from that event.

Editor’s Note: This meet was one of two dueling Oklahoma City-based Elite Pro-Ams last weekend. John Brown, the original head coach and founder of the meet when it began more than 20 years ago, has since moved on from the Kerr-McGee, then Chesapeake, and now American Energy Swim Club to the King Marlin Swim Club. He hosted an alternate version of the meet at the Oklahoma City Community College, the historic hosts of the fun winter-based short course yard professional event. Meanwhile, the meet’s founding club, American Energy hosted this meet of the 23rd annual Oklahoma Elite Pro-Am at the Mitch Park YMCA with Josh Davis at the forefront of the event.

I was a pro liaison but this event only happened through the leadership of the AESC board, swim parents and head coach, Jared Prince. Congratulations to them for hosting a very professional meet with outstanding hospitality for the pros. I was honored to help.
