Ali Deloof Among Top Finishers in Prelims at Athens Sectionals

Ali Deloof led the women’s 100-meter free in prelims of the final day of the Long Course Speedo Sectionals in Athens, GA. Deloof posted a 56.03 to claim the top seed for tonight’s finals. Lauren Earp finished second with a 56.26, dropping .46 seconds off her entry time of 56.72. Andrea Kneppers rounded out the top three with a 56.81.

Michael Chadwick claimed the top seed in prelims of the men’s 100-meter free with a 49.38, shaving .60 seconds off his entry time of 49.98. Joe Bonk was second and the only other athlete under the 50-second mark with a 49.95. Miguel Ortiz took third with a 50.40.

Micah Lawrence dominated prelims of the women’s 200-meter breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:26.03. Annie Zhu claimed the second-place seed with a 2:32.54, while Kayla Brumbaum was third with a 2:33.51.

On the men’s side it was Nicolas Fink who claimed first in prelims of the men’s 200-meter breaststroke. Fink posted a 2:15.00. Dylan Bosch grabbed second with a 2:!6.64, while Michael Duderstadt finished third with a 2:18.17.

Danielle Galyer was successful in prelims of the women’s 200-meter back claiming the top seed with a 2:12.47. Hannah Moore took second with a 2:13.47, while Jillian Vitarius rounded out the top three with a 2:13.68.

The men’s 200-meter back was a close race with Tristan Sanders and Hennessey Stuart finishing .52 seconds apart. Sanders claimed the top seed with a 1:59.37, slashing 2.31 seconds off his entry time of 2:01.68, while Stuart claimed second with a 1:59.89, dropping 4.86 seconds from his entry time of 2:04.75. Luke Papendick was third with a 2:00.48.
