New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College Department of Athletics announces Lauren Pallone as its new Head Women’s Swim Coach & Aquatics Director. Pallone comes to Albertus Magnus having previously been the assistant at her alma mater, Central Connecticut State University. During her time as an assistant at CCSU she helped coach two NCAA Championship Division I qualifiers, and numerous Northeast Conference champions.

“Lauren bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and experience to Albertus Magnus College Athletics. We are excited to have her with us as she gets this long awaited program off the ground!”

Prior to her time at CCSU, Lauren also served one year as an assistant coach at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT where she helped coach a NCAA Championship Division III qualifier, and was the head coach of Camillus Swim Club in Syracuse, NY for two years.

She has helped produce many state, regional, junior national, and national qualifiers during her years with the Club.

Prior to her coaching career, Pallone was an accomplished collegiate swimmer at CCSU. Primarily a sprinter for the Blue Devils, competing in both the freestyle and breaststroke Lauren set the school freshman record in the 100 breaststroke in her first season in New Britain. She was a member of the 2001 Northeast Conference Championship team, was a member of several school relay record-breaking teams, and was named as a captain for the Blue Devils in her senior season.

“I want to thank President Camille, Vice President Green, and Athletic Director, Jim Abromaitis for this amazing opportunity to become the Head Swimming Coach at Albertus Magnus College”, said Pallone. “I am truly grateful to everyone behind the scenes who have worked tirelessly to get this program up and running. I’m excited to be part of a growing and supportive athletics staff. I look forward to bringing in the first group of fearless Falcon swimmers for the 2019-2020 season.”
