Adam Peaty and Eiri Munro Welcome Parenthood

Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Adam Peaty and girlfriend Eiri Munro welcomed their new baby boy on Friday. George-Anderson Adetola Peaty was born September 11, 2020, weighing in at nine pounds, seven ounces. The couple announced their pregnancy in April 2020 as Peaty enters fatherhood while training for the 2021 Olympic Games where he is the reigning champ in the 100 breaststroke.

Adam Peaty is seeking to become just the second man to defend the 100 breast Olympic crown and the first British swimmer in history to win back to back Olympic crowns in the same event. Japan’s Kosuke Kitajima is the only man to win consecutive Olympic titles in the 100 breast. Peaty is set to represent the London Roar in his second season with the International Swimming League this season. Peaty has redefined the 100 breaststroke during his career. Not only is he the only man to break the 57-second barrier in the event, no one else has gone faster than the 58-second mark.

Peaty has already shown gratitude publicly to the hospital workers that delivered his baby, while he has received congratulations from British Swimming and London Roar – for whom Peaty competes in the ISL.

Becky Adlingtonwho recently announced she was expecting her second child – Chad Le Clos and James Guy were among hundreds who sent their congratulations.
