GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech swimmer Nathan Pawlowicz, Hokie diver Ashlynn Peters, Florida State diver Tyler Roberge and Louisville swimmer Andrea Cottrell were named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week.

Pawlowicz was named ACC Male Swimmer of the Week after helping the No. 10 Hokies surpass No. 23 Penn State in their first dual match of the season, 175-117. The sophomore garnered two first-place finishes in the 500 free (4:34.45) and the 1,000 free in a personal best time of 9:29.87.

This week’s ACC Men’s Diver of the Week, Roberge snagged a pair of first place finishes at the Sunshine State Showdown against Florida.  The junior scored a career-best 344.18 in the one-meter, which was 38.63 points ahead of the second place finisher. He then continued his success on the three-meter dive, scoring 383.40 points. Both of his diving scores were good enough for NCAA zone qualifying.

Cottrell had four first-place finishes this past weekend at the SMU Classic. No. 17 Louisville placed second behind No. 3 Michigan, edging out ranked opponents No. 4 USC and No. 19 UCLA. Cottrell swept the breast stroke, placing first in both the 100 (59.58) and 200 (2:08.74). She also swam the second leg in the 200 medley relay, whose time of 1:38.09 was a meet record. The senior swam the second leg of the first-place 400 medley relay as well, swimming 3:33.44 and a 59.37 split.

Peters earned this week’s ACC Women’s Diver of the Week title. The sophomore earned a total of 18 points towards Virginia Tech’s win over Penn State. Peters swept the diving field, scoring first in the one-meter (280.95) and three-meter (315.45).
