Hannah Hagy Named Assistant Coach at Trinity College

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College swimming and diving program has announced the hiring of Hannah Hagy as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The Bantams, coached by Carlos Vega (5th season), finished 4-4 in men’s dual meets and placed ninth in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men’s Championship Meet at Bowdoin College to close the 2017-18 season. The Bantam women’s squad were 2-7-1 in dual meets and came in ninth place in the NESCAC Championship Meet last winter.

Hagy joins the Trinity staff after a decorated career as a college swimmer. She was a Division III All-American and team captain at the University of Mary Washington where she graduated in 2016.  She was an NCAA Division Qualifer in 2013 and 2016 and also excelled in the classroom. Hagy was a Magna Cum Laude honor graduate, made the Deans List seven semesters, was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, earned Athletic Honor Roll seven semesters, was an Executive Board Member of Chi Beta Phi and was named an Academic All-American as well.

Hagy has experience as a swim coach at Machine Aquatics and for the Hunt Valley swim team, and has also worked as a lifeguard at Mary Washington. Most recently, she worked as a math teacher in the Stafford County (Va.) Public School system. She also worked as a Financial, Budget & Program Analyst as well.
