3 Interns Hired From Swimming World/CSCAA Internship Program

Last fall, Swimming World expanded its internship program with help from the College Swim Coaches Association of America, and it has definitely been a benefit to the swimming community. The inaugural class of 25 interns gained valuable experience writing for SwimmingWorld.com and Swimming World Magazine.

A trio of those 25 interns who first began writing for Swimming World during the first semester of last year have now been hired in various capacities with the company.

Taylor Brien, a recent graduate from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill., has relocated to the Phoenix office as our new circulation assistant.  Brien will also provide editorial support, and will be seen at events throughout the country with her amazing photography skills.

Brien hails from Bettendorf, Iowa, where she swam with Bettendorf Pleasant Valley Aquatics before moving on to compete with Illinois College.

Additionally, Diana Pimer and James Sica have been hired as editorial assistants for SwimmingWorld.com.  The pair with handle the full spectrum of content that can be found on SwimmingWorld.com throughout the year.

Pimer was an IMer at Keene State College, which seems preordained when looking at the spelling of her last name.  She won double-digit conference titles during her career as part of the Keene State Owls.  Prior to swimming at Keene State, Pimer trained with the Hopkins Mariner Swim Team.

Sica is a volunteer assistant coach with the Harvard women’s swimming and diving program.  Previously, Sica coached and swam at Ithaca College as part of the Empire 8 Conference.  While swimming for Ithaca, he competed in both the breaststroke and IM events.

Swimming World’s internship program has grown by leaps and bounds under the excellent mentorship of Annie Grevers.  This summer, Swimming World will be featuring more content from more than 20 interns as part of a condensed summer internship program that featured one of the largest applicant pools ever at the company.

If you are interested in getting a head start on our 2015-16 internships, please contact Annie Grevers at annieg@swimmingworld.com.
