2020 MAC Women’s Swimming Championships: Day One

Tonight was the first night of the 2020 Mid-American Conference women’s swimming championships in Buffalo, NY. The teams only swam the 200 Medley and 800 Freestyle relays.

Results

200 Medley Relay

After the first event, the University of Akron took the lead after winning the Medley relay by a relatively wide margin of 0.91 seconds over the University of Buffalo. These two distanced themselves from the field quite decently with third, Bowling Green State University, trailing Buffalo by 1.41 seconds.

800 Freestyle Relay

The 800 Freestyle Relay had a similar tune to the medley with Akron (7:11.13) finishing in first followed by Buffalo (7:15.38). The fight for third was close as Miami University (Ohio) came within two seconds of Buffalo. This event concluded the night, leaving Akron in the lead with Buffalo trailing.
