Men’s 1650

Texas junior Parker Neri was right on last year’s cut line in the 1650 with a 14:55.01 to win the Big 12 title on Saturday night in Morgantown, West Virginia. Neri finished ahead of teammates John Thomas Larson (15:04.67) and Jack Collins (15:16.16). Last year, it took a 14:54 to make it to NCAAs so Neri is right on the bubble with 25 days to go until the meet.

Men’s 100 Free

Texas sophomore Daniel Krueger continued his incredible sophomore season as he won the 100 freestyle at the Big 12 swimming and diving championships with a 41.26. The time is a new Big 12 record, lowering the 41.27 that was set by Tate Jackson in 2018. Krueger was already the top man in Division I with a 41.4 from mid-season, but he is now even further ahead of second place Brooks Curry (41.81) of LSU. Krueger will be a big favorite in the 100 free come NCAAs in 25 days.

Texas’ Maxime Rooney (42.06) and Drew Kibler (42.49) placed second and third as their 400 free relay should be dangerous come nationals.
