2019 Speedo Junior Nationals: Day Three Finals Heat Sheets

The third night of finals from the 2019 Speedo Junior Nationals in Palo Alto, California will feature the finals of the 400 free, 100 fly and men’s 4×200 free relay. Finals will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time with some of the future stars of the sport on display at Stanford’s pool.

Miranda Heckman is the top seed in the 400 free ahead of 14-year-old Jillian Cox as they were both 4:17s this morning in the heats. There is another 14-year-old in the final with Long Island’s Hana Shimizu-Bowers seeded fourth coming into tonight.

James Plage is the top seed in the men’s 400 free as the 16-year-old was a 3:55 this morning ahead of Virginia commit Jack Walker. The A-Final field is fairly experienced with five 18-year-olds in the field and two other 17-year-olds.

15-year-old Lucy Bell is the top seed in the women’s 100 fly as she comes in as the youngest in the A-Final. Tristen Ulett and Megan Pulley are seeded second and third with the whole field only being separated by less than a second.

The men’s 100 fly field is even tighter with Ethan Hu leading the way with a 54.13. The rest of the final were all 54’s this morning with Michael Linnihan and Aiden Hayes sitting in second and third.
