500 Free
Texas’ Townley Haas has won two NCAA titles in the 500 free in three years, and he will be the front-runner for a third this evening after he captured the top seed in the 500 free prelims. Haas swam head-to-head against Cal’s Sean Grieshop one lane over in the final heat, overtaking the Cal sophomore on the last 50. Grieshop ended up recording the second-fastest qualifying time with a 4:11.13.
The next three qualifiers all came out of the early heats. Arizona’s Brooks Fail qualified third in 4:11.51, followed by Georgia’s Walker Higgins (4:12.57) and Texas A&M’s Mark Theall (4:12.70). South Carolina’s Fynn Minuth (4:12.74), Michigan’s Ricardo Vargas Jacobo (4:13.15) and Harvard’s Brennan Novak (4:13.72) also got into the final.
It took a 4:14.47 to qualify for the consolation final, with Florida’s Khader Baqlah finishing 16th. Notably, Michigan’s Felix Aubock, last year’s runner-up and the top seed coming into the day, finished a shocking 35th in 4:18.40, nine seconds off his seed time.

The link for the Live Results is to the women’s championships!
It is the same url link as the women’s, so you just have to go to your history and clear your cache, then it should be corrected.
PLEASE correct the link so I can read the mens prelims and final results. It was easy to read last year without any clearing cache/ history.
Thank you very much.
Please clear the womens results and post the mens prelims and finals.
I was able to read this last year NCAAs without any problem or extra computer expertise.
Thank you very much.
Alice, sorry to hear you’re having issues with the results. That link is actually the same one that was used for both NCAA meets in 2017 and for the women’s meet last year. As soon as I cleared my cache last night, I was good.
Hi David,
Please tell me how to “clear cache” exactly, sorry I am not computer savvy please be patient with me. Thank you, Alice
Alice, you have to go into your settings, into the area where you would clear your entire browsing data. I hope that helps. I actually had to get some help to do it.
OK thank you David for this tip.
Alice Go Cardinals the actual bird 🙂
Hey Paul Carrozza look who’s in the pic
