The second morning of the 2017 Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships will go off Wednesday morning at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Eight events will contest preliminaries Wednesday morning. The 200 free, 200 breast, 200 back and 50 fly will have prelims. Katie Ledecky, Leah Smith and Mallory Comerford will look to continue momentum into the 200 free prelims as they already picked up spots on the team on Tuesday night.

Jack Conger and Townley Haas will be challenging top seed Conor Dwyer in the 200 free prelims as the former two both picked up World Championship berths on Tuesday. Dwyer will be looking for his third straight Worlds team.

Olympians Katie Meili and Lilly King will see action in Indy for the first time in the heats of the 200 breast as they will be looking for their first World Championship berths themselves.

Josh Prenot, Kevin Cordes and Will Licon lead a strong field in the men’s race as those three were all within a second of each other at last summer’s Trials. Cordes will be looking to get on his third Worlds team as Licon and Prenot are searching for their first.

The women’s 200 back is relatively wide open as any number of swimmers could come out of the heats and get on the team at night. Kathleen Baker and Hali Flickinger are the only Olympians entered in the heats.

Ryan Murphy and Jacob Pebley will go at it tomorrow in the 200 back heats as Sean Lehane and company will be looking to spoil. The 50 fly heats will end the morning where Kelsi Worrell and Tom Shields are the top seeds.
