The second day of the 2017 NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships will feature four events on Thursday morning followed by the 1m diving preliminaries. NC State will look to continue its momentum into day two of the championships after winning its first 800 free relay NCAA title in school history.

The 200 free relay will kick off the morning session with Florida, Auburn and NC State holding the top two seeds. There will be a lot of hype over if anyone can break 18 seconds off a relay start after Florida junior Caeleb Dressel swam a 17.86 split at SEC’s. The 500 will follow with the top seeds held by freshmen Felix Aubock of Michigan and Grant Shoults of Stanford. South Carolina’s Fynn Minuth is the third seed. Defending champ Townley Haas of Texas is seeded 10th and 2015 champ Clark Smith is seeded fourth.

The 200 IM returns seven of the A-finalists from last year with defending champion Will Licon of Texas seeded 10th. Cal’s Andrew Seliskar is the top seed in the race ahead of NC State junior Andreas Vazaios and Georgia senior Chase Kalisz. The 50 free will be a hyped race with defending champion and American Record holder Caeleb Dressel leading the way, and we will see if he can chase his 18.20 from last year. Texas junior Joseph Schooling and NC State junior Ryan Held will also have a chance to challenge Dressel in the short race.

The 400 medley relay will conclude the morning as Texas is looking for its third straight title in that relay. The Longhorns are seeded second behind Indiana and California is seeded third.

The action will begin Thursday morning at 10 a.m. EST at the IU Natatorium from Indianapolis, Indiana.
