Video Interview: Abbey Weitzeil Makes First National Team

IRVINE, California, August 6. ON the first day of action of the 2014 U.S. Nationals, Abbey Weitzeil qualified for her first senior national team with a fourth-place finish in the women’s 100 free. Weitzeil dropped almost a full second from her best time over the course of the day en route to qualifying for the Pan Pacs in Australia later this month. After the race, Weitzeil spoke to Swimming World about the emotions of making such a team, her huge time drop, and her expectations for the 50 free later this week.
