Paul Brosky, Diego Pareja Give Verbal Nods to Miami Ohio RedHawks

NEW COMMITS: Miami University of Ohio has recently received two verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Horsham, Pa. native Paul Brosky and Diego Pareja of Oak Park, Ill.

Both talented swimmers will arrive in Oxford as members of the class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Miami University! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches and teammates for helping me throughout the process. Also a huge thanks to the Miami coaches for making my decision so easy. Can’t wait for the next 4 years, go redhawks!! #LoveandHonor”

Brosky swims year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and placed eighth in both the 200 and 400 IM at the NCAP Invitational in December. Last summer, he finished 16th in the 200m breast at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors before going on to earn 100% best times at NCSAs.

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:52.68
  • 400 IM – 4:02.68
  • 200 free – 1:44.93
  • 500 free – 4:37.20
  • 100 breast – 58.78
  • 200 breast – 2:07.60
  • 100 back – 52.65
  • 200 back – 1:52.64

La Salle College High School, Brosky is a three-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. He placed sixth in the 200 IM and 14th in the 500 free as a junior while taking 15th in the former event during his sophomore season.

DIEGO PAREJA

He told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Miami University! A huge thank you to Coach Hollie and Coach Zach for the opportunity to join such a fantastic program, and to my family, coaches, and friends for all of their support. Go RedHawks! #LoveAndHonor” 

Pareja does his club swimming with Academy Bullets Swim Club and placed fifth in the 100 back at Illinois Seniors in March after winning that event at December’s OLY Winter Invite. He recorded four best times at Illinois LCM Seniors last summer before going on to race six events at NCSAs.

His best times include:

  • 50 Back – 23.08
  • 100 Back – 49.90
  • 200 Back – 1:52.19
  • 100 Fly – 51.39
  • 200 Fly – 1:56.76
  • 50 Free – 22.22
  • 100 Free – 48.68
  • 200 Free – 1:44.90

A current senior at Oak Park River Forest High School, Pareja raced to sixth place in the 100 back at the Illinois State Championships as a junior. He has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.
