INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 3. A flip-flop from the morning preliminaries was the only thing that changed at the top of the men's 50 freestyle. In Montreal, the U.S. will be represented by the firm of Lezak & Brunelli.

After qualfying second, Jason Lezak prevailed in the championship final by touching the wall in 22.29. Nicholas Brunelli, meanwhile, clocked in at 22.33, quick enough to hold off Ben Wildman-Tobriner (22.39), Stanford's sprint ace.

Lezak, of course, is a familiar face on the international scene, having competed in the last two Olympiads. As for Brunelli, he has gradually enhanced his stock in recent months and could find enough improvement by July to challenge for a medal at the World Championships.

Wildman-Tobriner, who helped Stanford to second in the team race at the NCAA Championships, touched ahead of Garrett Weber-Gale (22.44), the top sprinter at the University of Texas. Fifth place went to Cullen Jones (22.60) and sixth was claimed by Neil Walker (22.72).
