The Morning Swim Show: Mare Nostrum, Masters Swimming Results; Rob Butcher Talks About New Direction for US Masters Swimming

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 13. THE Friday edition of The Morning Swim Show highlights some of the fast swimming in Europe and talks to the new executive director of United States Masters Swimming.

Host Peter Busch talks about the three women who made a run at some world records at the Barcelona stop of the Mare Nostrum meet and mentions the three men who broke Masters world records last weekend.

In Reaction Time, Busch talks to Rob Butcher, the new executive director for United States Masters Swimming. Butcher, a lifelong swimmer, talks about changing the organization from a volunteer-based group to an administrative one, and making more people aware of the advantages of swimming as exercise. He also talks about the ways he'd like to get Masters swimmers involved outside the Masters ranks as well to help with visibility.

The Meet Flyer segment offers a look ahead at the final stop on the Mare Nostrum circuit and the water polo match between the USA men and Croatia which will be broadcast on MSNBC Sunday at 9 a.m. Pacific Time.
