SAN JOSE, California, December 17. SWIMOUTLET.com, the web’s most popular swim shop, has added triathlete Jarrod Shoemaker to its athlete roster for 2014 as an in-house content contributor for such topics as expert guides, product reviews, training tips and other triathlon-related information.
Shoemaker was a 2008 Olympian and the top American qualifier for the Beijing Olympics at the trials race. In 2009, he won the Duathlon World Championships consisting of a run-cycle-run and was named USA Triathlon’s Triathlete of the Year in 2012. He also has a keen sense of product development and design for a range of triathlon accessories, having started his own line of personal care products among other things.
“We’re finding that more and more, the consumer is looking for product advice, suggestions and tips from experts when they come to our retail platform,” said Rob Penner, VP, Sports Marketing at SwimOutlet.com, which also includes YogaOutlet.com, SurfOutlet.com & RunOutlet.com. “Whether it’s reviews of the top products we carry or tips on what gear and accessories you need for race day, having a world champion like Jarrod engage and educate our audience adds to the many layers of information we provide on our site.”
“I’m excited to partner with SwimOutlet.com to share some of the knowledge I’ve picked up in elite and professional triathlons over the past decade and help them grow their triathlon product offerings,” said Shoemaker. “Triathletes can be very particular about their gear and hopefully my input will help during the decision-making process and provide tips on participating in our amazing sport.”
Shoemaker will begin contributing with regular features on SwimOutlet.com’s blog and website in January. He will also be featured in newsletters and social media campaigns. SwimOutlet.com has partnered with other athletes in the past including Olympians Mark Gangloff, Tony Azevedo and Garrett-Weber Gale, and is currently partners with U.S. Masters Swimming, Fitter & Faster Swim Tour and USA Synchro, among others.
