Swimming World Six-Star Promotion: Dagny Knutson

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 24. WHILE this one is a no-brainer, Minot's Dagny Knutson just created her own Swimming World College Recruit Rankings profile, which is powered by Take Your Marks.

Knutson's initial slate of top times, which includes an American record in the 400-yard IM (4:00.62), made her an immediate Swimming World six-star recruit for the Class of 2010.

Knutson is not only set up to be a dominant individual point-scorer at NCAAs for whoever signs her, she's also going to be an impact player on a fortunate team's relays. Knutson's top times are A final quality in the 100-yard free (47.80), 200-yard free (1:42.81), 500-yard free (4:34.78), 200-yard IM (1:54.03) and the aforementioned 400-yard IM (4:00.62).

The question heading into her last year-and-a-half as a high school swimmer is whether she will go the way of Katie Hoff and Kate Ziegler as a professional swimmer, or continue her higher education as a student-athlete like Kathleen Hersey, Christine Marshall, Allison Schmitt and Rebecca Soni. Joining Swimming World's College Recruit Rankings might be an indicator of her future intentions.

To be a six-star, a recruit must have a lifetime best short course yard time that would either place them in the past year's A final of an event at the NCAA Division I Championships, or own multiple times that would have reached B finals in the past year

If you know of anyone else of high school age that has recorded a time that would have put them into A finals at last year's NCAA Division I Championships, please let us know via Reaction Time.
