COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 23. DARTFISH, a worldwide company that develops the latest digital imaging applications for sports, and USA Swimming, the governing body for competitive swimming in the United
States, announced a partnership to develop DARTSWIM.
DARTSWIM is a technique education and evaluation system for competitive swimmers and coaches utilizing Dartfish's cutting-edge video analysis technology and USA Swimming's extensive video library and education materials. Dartfish was also named the "Official Supplier of Video Enhancement Training Software to
USA Swimming." The agreement runs through the 2004 Olympic Games.
"This partnership has tremendous potential," explained USA Swimming National Team Director Dennis Pursley.
"Swimming is a technique intensive sport and this initiative will give swimmers and coaches at all levels the tools and access to information that will allow them to improve their performance. The positive impact of Dartfish technology has been proven in several Olympic sports in recent month and we feel that DARTSWIM will make a significant impact in our ability to perform at the international level."
The development of an interactive swimming-specific DARTSWIM foundation CD is currently underway. The CD will combine the cutting edge Dartfish software with video clips and educational material from USA Swimming at a price accessible to most competitive swimmers.
Additional video content and educational video will be available to augment the foundation CD (www.dartswim.com). As part of this agreement, a special Dartfish educational page will be added to the USA Swimming website.
DartTrainer software has been widely accepted amongst sport governing bodies and is also the official video analysis training software for USA Volleyball, USA Gymnastics, USA Luge, USA Bowling, and Softball Canada.
During the recent Winter Olympic Games held in Salt Lake City, Utah, there were 45 medals won by athletes who trained with DartTrainer leading up to the Games.
