Slovenia Short Course Nationals: Robert Zbogar Triples, Anja Klinar Doubles

KRANJ, Slovenia, November 24. THE Slovenia Short Course Nationals got underway in Kranj today with Robert Zbogar posting three victories in the first night of finals. Anja Klinar, meanwhile, was the top female with a pair of triumphs.

Zbogar topped the men's 100 IM in 56.54, while Ziga Cerkovnik placed second in 57.32. Anze Tavcar wound up third in 58.22. Zbogar doubled with a 26.03 to win the men's 50 back. Safra placed second in 27.56, while Vid Velickovic took third in 27.74. Zbogar then added a third title to his resume with a 1:57.98 in the men's 200 fly. Miha Bernat placed well back in second in 2:06.05, while Nejc Jurjevcic picked up third in 2:06.33.

Klinar nearly cracked the top 25 in the world with a 4:06.68 to win the women's 400 free handily. Ursa Bezan took second in 4:11.03, while Nina Cesar placed third in 4:11.18. Klinar claimed her second title of the evening with a 2:13.92 in the women's 200 fly. Sofija Djelic touched second in 2:16.89, while Mojca Sagmeister placed third in 2:19.57.

Yuval Safra earned the men's 400 free crown in 3:58.08. Martin Bau (3:58.13) and Rok Mihovec (4:01.20) placed second and third.

Emil Tahirovic won the men's 100 breast title in 1:00.90. Robert Vovk finished second in 1:01.53, while Matjaz Markic picked up third in 1:02.31. Lota Zala Gomezelj followed with a 1:11.43 to win the women's 100 breast. Pia Hocevar Mucic (1:12.21) and Tajda Topic (1:13.39) placed second and third.

Nina Sovinek claimed the women's 100 IM title in 1:03.50. Pia Pavlic touched second in 1:04.39, while Sagmeister finished third in 1:04.51. Anja Carman topped the women's 50 back in 28.56. Pavlic picked up a second runner-up finish with a 29.98, while Anemari Kosak touched third in 30.11.
