OSSC’s Julia St. John Verbally Commits to Denison University
NEW COMMIT: Denison University has received a verbal commitment from an in-state talent, Julia St. John. St. John swims for Ohio State Swim Club and is a senior at Bishop Watterson High School.
She said of her decision,
“I’m so incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to Denison University! I immediately felt at home the minute I stepped on campus. The team and coaches made me feel so welcome. I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team and university! Go Big Red!”
Her top times include:
- 50 Free 25.05
- 100 Free 55.14
- 200 Free 2:00.53
- 100 Breast 1:10.35
- 100 Back 1:02.60
Next fall when St. John makes the move to Granville the Big Red sprint freestyle group will still be led by Gabriella Nutter, who was an NCAC 50 and 100 free A finalist as a freshman last year. Jacq Kurkjian (25.05) won the 50 free C final last year. Eva Jorn (25.59) also appeared in that C final. They’ll both also overlap with St. John for two years.
Ohio State Swim Club teammates Lauren Cooper, Jason Mathews, Benjamin Kuriger, Hudson McDaniel, Eddie Michael, Rachel Peroni, and Cecilia Moore have all given verbal commitments to college programs.
