Arizona State Class of 2022 Grows to Four With Verbal Commit From Ethan Luc

Bob Bowman is continuing to quickly develop his Arizona State University swim team with the Sun Devils’ fourth verbal commitment this spring.

Sprinter Ethan Luc has made his commitment known on social media. Luc is a sprinter from Portland, Oregon who trains with Tualatin Hills Swim Club.

In February, he became the Oregon 6A state champion in the 100 freestyle while representing his school, Westview High.

Some of his best times are:

  • 50 Free 20.79
  • 100 Free 44.85
  • 200 Free 1:38.41

Luc joins Cody Bybee of Dayton, Ohio who made his commitment known on CollegeSwimming.com. Bybee had an incredible high school swimming season.

At the Ohio High School Division 2 meet in February, swimming for Bellbrook High School, he broke Joe Hudepohl‘s legendary 200 free state record. Bybee also trains with the Dayton Raiders. He’ll make a serious impact on the Sun Devils, already having Pac 12 scoring ability in more than just his top three events, and having great relay potential.

Bybee’s top SCY times are:

  • 50 Free 20.36
  • 100 Free 43.78
  • 200 Free 1:34.55
  • 50 Fly 21.57
  • 100 Fly 46.97

Khalil Fonder, whose commitment was first reported by his local news, is a Virginia 4A state champion for William Byrd. He trains with the Virginia Gators.

Among his top times are:

  • 50 Free 20.71
  • 100 Free 44.57
  • 100 Fly 47.63
  • 100 Back 48.46

Eddie Michael is another sprint focused junior who made his commitment known through social media. He’s a junior at Dublin Coffman High School in Ohio and swims for the Ohio State Swim Club.

  • 50 Free 21.07
  • 100 Free 45.35
  • 100 Back 50.40
