Farida Osman Thriving On Uplifting Cal Culture, Video Interview

GREENSBORO- Farida Osman’s collegiate career has exploded this season. On day two she anchored Cal’s title-winning 200 medley relay (1:35.15) in a lightning fast 21.09 seconds. Serious speed. Individually she finished fourth in the 100 fly (50.94) on night two. Osman has been a pivotal player for Cal this year.

Last year was her first year in the U.S. after moving from her home country of Egypt. Here she speaks to Swimming World about adapting to college swimming, the uplifting team environment Cal fosters, and what the team needs to focus on today to get the job done.

As a former Egyptian National Team Coach and a U.S. citizen, I am extremely proud of your swimming and your interview. You are an extremely positive example to so many swimmers in Egypt and the U.S. You almost make me miss Egypt.
