Doctor Kurt Grote, U.S. Olympian, Becomes A Dad Again

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept 21. SWIMINFO has learned of a joyous event for one of America’s most beloved swimmers of recent years. Kurt Grote is a dad for the second time.

Kurt walked on at Stanford and was several times an NCAA breaststroke champion before leaving his undergrad career at the Farm on his way to becoming a medical doctor. He won six USA Swimming national titles and medaled for the US in both world and Olympic competition, gaining gold in Atlanta for his work in the prelims of the 4 x 100 medley relay.

Kurt and wife Amy have shared some details of this event:

Friends and loved ones,

Here are her "metrics", for anyone keeping score:
Birthdate: 10:30 pm, September 1, 2004
Weight: 9 lbs, 9 oz
Length: 20 inches
Apgars: 9 at 1 minutes, 9 at 5 minutes

Warm regards,
Kurt and Amy
