Van Landeghem talks about her expectations going into the 50 freestyle final at Pan Pacs and why earning a bronze medal and a Canadian national record was a major surprise. After missing out on qualifying for the Commonwealth Games, Van Landeghem said she was more motivated to prove herself in Australia, and she’s taking that experience into her junior year at the University of Georgia. She had no time to recover from her summer season, getting right into classes and training in Athens. The Bulldogs competed in their first meet last week, and she talked about getting into the season and the team’s chances for another national title.
