Available: SW Magazine:Stephen Estes’ Comeback from Traumatic Brain Injury

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 5. THE February online issue of Swimming World Magazine is now available for download for Total Access Subscribers!

Stephen Estes is an inspiration for his Arizona State Sun Devil teammates. A car hit him from behind while Estes was helping another driver in distress on the side of the freeway. Although he suffered several broken bones and a traumatic brain injury, the Arizona State senior persevered, coming back just in time to compete at the 2012 Olympic Trials.

In the article, titled Sun Devil Rises Jeff Commings discusses the accident, Estes' road to recovery and how he managed to push through school and swimming even when his brain and body seemed unable to cooperate.
