Many of the top American swimmers from last month’s National Club Swimming Association’s junior nationals will get to race against the best Irish swimmers later this month at the Irish Open as part of the NCSA All-America team.

The roster of 51 is missing a few notable names from the meet, including Andrew Seliskar, Cassidy Bayer and Carsten Vissering. But for the most part, Team USA will have plenty of strong talent from this list of promising 18-and-unders. Katie Drabot comes in with perhaps the best credentials of the group, having won the junior Pan Pacific title in the 200 freestyle last summer. Matthew Hirschberger will give the men’s distance races a bit of a boost after breaking three national age group records last month.

Sid Cassidy of Saint Andrews Swimming will serve as the women’s head coach, while Fox Valley’s Dave Krotiak will be the men’s head coach.

The Irish nationals runs April 30-May 3. Swimming World’s Jeff Commings will be embedded with the team through the meet, and will provide commentary for on-demand video of all finals races from Dublin. Those videos will appear on the event landing page when available.

The NCSA last participated in the Irish nationals in 2010, and that roster includes several athletes who are now performing well at the senior elite level. Jack Conger, the American record holder in the 200 butterfly, attended the meet in 2010, as did his future Texas teammates Clay Youngquist and Sarah Denninghoff.
