STUART, Florida, November 9. AT the Florida State 2A High School Championships tonight, Clay High's Caeleb Dressel downed his national high school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a monster leadoff for his winning Clay High squad in the 200-yard free relay.

Dressel blitzed the field with a sterling 19.29 lead leg as Dressel, Grady Heath (21.75), Matthew Bonna (22.00) and Dakota Mahaffey (21.22) came together for a 1:24.26 for the win.

That performance cleared his previous record of 19.36 set earlier this season during the FSPA Invitational. The record had previously stood to the Sizzling Siberian Vlad Morozov, who had a 19.43 relay leadoff for Torrance High in May 2010. Ryan Murphy still owns the independent school mark with a 19.54 relay leadoff from last November's Bolles School onslaught on all the national high school records.

The swim also lowered Dressel's own U.S. 17-18 National Age Group record that was the 19.36 from September. Seth Stubblefield had previously held that record with a 19.41 since 2012. It's only a matter of time before Dressel winds up throwing down a sub-19 performance.

Dressel closed his night with a 43.39 100 free leadoff as Clay's Dressel, Heath (47.27), Bonna (49.91) and Mahaffey (46.82) won again with a 3:07.36 in the 400 free relay.

Yesterday, Dressel lost the 100 fly high school record to Bolles teammate Joseph Schooling (45.52), but had a pretty strong meet here in Stuart tonight. He opened the night with a win in the 200 free with a 1:34.69, before clocking a 45.99 in the 100 fly for the win.

Dressel is currently one of the top uncommitted recruits in the Class of 2014 and is down to a few colleges. He's been taking his time on making his decision.
