Women's NCAAs, Day 3 Prelims: Coventry Posts Fastest 200 Back Prelim Time -- March 20, 2004

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, March 20. WE’RE ready to start prelims for Day 3. Auburn has the team title well in hand, but Georgia – swimming very well -- and Arizona – performing superbly – are duking it out for second, with the Dawgs leading the ‘Cats by 17points coming into today’s events.

Here we go…

200 meter backstroke
Auburn’s Kirsty Coventry posted the fastest time with a 2:07.24. Natalie cruised the final heat, going just fast enough to win, 2:08.12. Rutgers’ Kelly Harrigan qualified third one-hundredth of a second behind.

It took 2:09.36 to make A final, 2:11.70 to make B.
