OAK HARBOR, Washington, November 23. OLYMPIC champion Megan Jendrick stepped up for one race at the Whidbey Island short course meters Masters meet and set a Masters world record.

Jendrick, the 2000 Olympic champion in the 100 breaststroke, swam a 31.87 in the 50 breaststroke, erasing the world record in the 25-29 age group. The 26-year-old dipped under Nicole Heidemann's 31.97, set in December 2009.

The swim marks Jendrick's third Masters world record in 2010. She also holds the long course meters records in the 50 and 100 breaststrokes for the 25-29 age group, which she set in July.
