USA Swimming Sectionals, Shenandoah: Third Evening Concludes
SHENANDOAH, Texas, July 30. THE third evening of long course meter action at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Shenandoah concluded.
Aggie's Meagan Hairston won the women's 100 back in 1:05.13, while Dallas Mustang Claire Brandt took second in 1:05.48. Longhorn's Maria Bargardi joined them under 1:06 with a 1:05.60, while Alamo Area's Kim Pavlin missed the podium with a fourth-place 1:05.62. Tiger's James Meyers topped the men's 100 back in 58.84. Aggie's Andres Van Dam touched second in 59.46, while Crawfish's Brock Davis finished third in 59.61.
Space City's Sarah Peterson claimed the women's 200 breast in 2:38.63, while North Texas' Elise Weisert, 15, earned second in 2:39.99. Premier's Chelsie Miller wound up third in 2:41.23. Aggie's Cheyne Hermes touched first in the men's 200 breast with a 2:22.79. West Austin's Paul Corbae, 15, placed second in 2:23.75, while Power for Life's Jason Ting took third in 2:25.93.
The Woodlands went 1-2 in the women's 400 free. Elizabeth Nelson won in 4:21.71, while Lindsay Manning, 15, finished second in 4:22.27. Alamo Area's Anna Mayfield grabbed third in 4:24.59. Cypress Fairbanks' Ross Johnson touched out Premier's Hunter Funk, 4:05.91 to 4:05.93, in the men's 400 free. Blue Tide's Ryan Glander picked up third in 4:06.66.
Blast's Kara Kopcso, 14, took home the women's 100 fly in 1:02.44. Tiger's Ali Sanford finished second in 1:02.77, while City of Plano's Jaclin Rehring placed third in 1:04.12. Aggie's Boris Loncaric won the men's 100 fly in 53.51. Nu Wave's Jarryd Gregoire placed second in 55.93, while Longhorn's Madison Gibson earned third in 55.94.
