USA Swimming Sectionals, Indianapolis: Eric Solis Downs Another Meet Record

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 28. IN the final night of long course meter action at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Indianapolis, Michigan Lakeshore's Eric Solis lowered another meet record.

Solis crushed the field and the meet record in the men's 200 IM. He clocked a 2:05.60 in the event, clearing the 2:07.25 record set by Honza Vitazka back in 2002. IU's Samuel Trahin placed second in 2:09.15, while Carmel's Nik Astashinsky wound up third in 2:10.37. Indiana's Kim Tracey won the women's 200 IM in 2:19.21, while Carmel's Patricia Regan took second in 2:20.76. Kingfish's Carol Arakelian placed third in 2:21.07.

Oakland Live Y'er Madeline Tegner won the women's 1500 free in 17:02.65. Maverick's Megan Gallagher (17:02.84) and Carmel's Lauren Jordan (17:08.74) completed the top three. IU's Illya Larin topped the men's 800 free in 8:24.54. Teammate Andrew Taylor (8:27.33) and Counsilman's Andy Mueller (8:31.68) finished second and third.

Michigan's Emily Bos picked up the women's 100 free title in 57.41, while Mason Manta Ray Dani Jansen finished second in 57.92. Carmel's Rhiannon Sheets touched third in 58.37. IU's Titus Knight (51.94) and Ante Zoricic (52.20) took second and third in the men's 100 free. Jimmy Barbiere rounded out the podium in 52.63.

Carmel's Lacey Locke, Lauren Stauder, Patricia Regan and Rhiannon Sheets won the women's 400 medley relay in 4:23.06. Michigan Lakeshore's Jordan Schrotenboer, Eric Solis, Aaron Beebe and Benjamin Mosterd topped the men's 400 medley relay in 3:56.50.
