USA Swimming Sectionals, Rockville: Felicia Lee Doubles, Sets Meet Record

ROCKVILLE, Maryland, March 27. NORTH Baltimore's Felicia Lee had another strong night, this time beating the meet record in the women's 100 back at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Rockville. The meet is taking place in the short course yard format.

North Baltimore's Felicia Lee cleared the women's 100 back meet record with a time of 53.46. That swim beat Brielle White's 2007 mark of 54.37. Curl Burke's Janet Hu finished second in 55.58, while Machine's Eva Greene pocketed third in 55.88. Lee doubled up to win the women's 50 free in 22.99, while AGUA's Lia Neal took second in 23.05. All Star's Natalya Ares placed third in 23.82.

Loyola Blakefield's Tanja Kylliainen won the women's 200 fly in 1:58.74, just missing her meet record of 1:58.73 set a year ago. Lancaster's Emily Cameron placed second in 2:00.20, while Curl Burke's Janet Hu wound up third in 2:00.43. Curl Burke's Nicholas Tremols touched out Loyola Blakefield's Oliver Bennett, 1:49.03 to 1:49.18, in the men's 200 fly. Curl Burke's Mark Sarman took third in 1:50.08.

Curl Burke's Dolan Sullivan claimed the men's 50 free in 20.71. Columbia's Christopher Will took second in 20.86, while AGUA's Griffin Schumacher grabbed third in 20.91. Elite's Michael Strand touched out Rappahannock's Joshua Friedel, 50.31 to 50.39, in the men's 100 back. Will snared a second podium with a third-place 50.68.

Cameron claimed her second podium, this time with a dominant effort in the women's 200 breast. She won in 2:13.95, while NBAC's Rachael Schaffer took second in 2:16.52. Delaware's Katherine Rechsteiner earned third in 2:16.95. Curl Burke's Charles Katis took home the men's 200 breast title in 2:03.03. Ridgefield's Brian Bollerman placed second in 2:03.75, while NBAC's Chase Kalisz settled for third in 2:04.49.

NBAC's Camryne Morris cruised in the women's 500 free with a 4:44.48. Fox Chapel's Rachel Zilinskas (4:47.03) and Parkland's Gillian Ryan (4:47.68) completed the podium. Central Jersey's Connor Jaeger captured the men's 500 free in 4:28.82. Ridgefield's Andrew Klutey (4:29.99) and Coastal's Rodney Fentress (4:34.03) took second and third.

Curl Burke's Philip Hu, Charles Katis, Nicholas Tremols and Dolan Sullivan set a meet record in the men's 200 medley relay with a 1:31.99. That performance beat the 1:32.32 set by the Jersey Gators in 2009. Curl Burke's Sullivan, Ryan Dunne, Katis and Cyrus Hashemi lowered another relay meet record with a 3:06.61 in the men's 400 free relay. The squad clipped the 3:06.66 set by Long Island back in 2002.

NBAC's Felicia Lee, Rachael Schaffer, Kendall Surhoff and Mary Pelton won the women's 200 medley relay in 1:44.19. NBAC's Schaffer, Andrea Staub, Surhoff and Lee won the women's 400 free relay in 3:24.95.
