NCAA Division I Women's Championships: IUPUI's Chen Ni Captures Platform Title -- March 20, 2010

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana, March 20. THE platform title went to IUPUI's Chen Ni, giving the Summit League team its first national title in NCAA history.

Ni turned in 325.50 for the win, while Alabama's Carrie Dragland took a close second with 323.05 points. Florida's Kara Salamone led a big point attack in the event for the Gators with 307.45 points for third. Teammate Monica Dodson took eighth with 219.65 points to help the Gators to the team lead.


"It feels good," Ni said. "All of my hard work for the year paid off."

Florida went into the final race with 350 points, while Stanford (339.5) and Arizona (335.5) stood second and third. California (329) and Georgia (312.5) made up the rest of the top five.
