OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, March 4. THE USA Swimming sectionals held in Oklahoma City, Okla., put long course meter action on display during the first night.
The Kansas City Blazers swept the podium in the women's 800 free with strong swims from Shannon Vreeland (9:01.06), Monica Dudley, 17, (9:09.82) and Amy Davis, 14, (9:14.40).
Meanwhile, Tsunami's Ty Fowler, 14, put on a show with a breakout swim in the men's 800 free. He clocked an 8:26.25 for the victory. Swim Tulsa's Eastman Holloway, 16, snagged second in the event with an 8:33.93, while Rockwood's Garin Marlow, 17, placed third in 8:40.16.
