USA Swimming Sectionals, Nashville: Dynamo Sweeps Relays on First Night
NASHVILLE, Tennessee, March 4. THE first night of short course yard swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Nashville put distance events in the spotlight.
Marlins of Raleigh's Victoria Mitchell, 17, captured the women's 100 free in 9:51.88, while Dynamo's Sarah Williford, 16, took second in 10:04.80. GCAT's Erika Wozniak, 16, finished third overall in 10:05.49.
Pilot's Evan Pinion, 15, snagged the men's 1000 free in 9:03.71, while Nashville's Dakota Hodgson touched second in 9:04.20. New South's Brett Boston wound up third in 9:18.70.
Dynamo swept the relay events for the night. The team of Taylor Schick, Nicole Stafford, Haley Durmer and Williford won the women's 800 free relay in 7:27.38. Meanwhile, the quartet of Matias Koski, Jack Lane, Allen Browning and Elliott Brockelbank took home the men's 800 free relay crown in 6:44.64.
