Swimming World Announces Staff Changes; Garrett McCaffrey, Denton Taylor Join Team

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 1. SWIMMING World is proud to announce two additions to its staff. Garrett McCaffrey has joined the SwimmingWorld.TV team as its producer, while Denton Taylor is the new advertising/promotion coordinator for Swimming World.

McCaffrey, the man whose grass roots approach to event coverage of swimming revolutionized online media within the sport, joins SwimmingWorld.TV as its top content producer.

As SwimmingWorld.TV enters its fifth season as the leading video content provider in aquatics, McCaffrey will lead the aquatic community in providing the most comprehensive video streaming content in the sport today.

"Garrett is a perfect fit to Swimming World's independent reporting style. He has certainly proven his passion for aquatics and the ability to reach every corner of the community through his sensational efforts at FloSwimming.org. In the coming weeks, we will be providing Garrett the tools and platforms to showcase his talents," said Brent Rutemiller, CEO of Sports Publications International, publishers of Swimming World Magazine and SwimmingWorld.TV.

McCaffrey hit the ground running on Sept. 1 as SwimmingWorld.TV's newest producer for the groundbreaking Morning Swim Show. He will be the driving force behind a new SwimmingWorld.TV web site that will be devoted to online video content as well as social interaction. The new site will merge the latest blogging elements with Swimming World's proven viewer traffic to create the most dynamic aquatic website in the industry.

"I've been lucky enough to cover a sport I love during a crucial time in its growth," McCaffrey said. "My goal is to continue to raise the bar in swimming coverage and what better outlet to do that with than the most popular swimming media company in the world? Swimming World is committed to bringing the best content in the world to swim fans. They recognize the need to transition into a new era of media coverage, and with that commitment, and the team they've assembled, I can't imagine a better place to take the sport to new levels."

Taylor joins the staff as the new point person for Swimming World's advertising and promotional efforts. He will oversee the blending of traditional print media with new digital media so that the market industry can full integrate at all levels including video, static digital, mobile and print. Taylor has worked with corporate entities such as Nike and TYR, while keeping a hand in coaching at the BEST Swim Club in Phoenix after swimming for and graduating from the University of Arizona.

"Swimming World Magazine has been a crucial part of swimming's history as the top independent resource within the sport," Taylor said. "I am excited to be part of Swimming World's continued integration of its print publication with growing technologies on the Internet. Since their inception, the Morning Swim Show and SwimmingWorld.TV have kept swimming within reach of every home around the world. I'm looking forward to being part of this sustained growth."

"With the addition of Denton in advertising and promotion to the team of Jason Marsteller (Managing Editor), Jeff Commings (SWTV Associate Producer), Peter Busch (MSS Host), and Garrett McCaffrey (SWTV Producer), Swimming World now has in place a young workforce of passionate and dedicated individuals who promise to lead Swimming World into the new challenges of credible and independent media reporting," said Rutemiller.
