USA Swimming Sectionals, Clovis: Megan Rankin, Ryan Hinshaw Win Distance Events -- July 22, 2009
CLOVIS, California, July 22. THE 800 freestyle events took center stage at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Clovis, Calif.
Aquazot's Megan Rankin, 15, captured the women's 800 free with a time of 8:45.77, while teammate Melanie Klaren placed second in 8:47.42. Terrapins' Chelsea Chenault, 14, completed the top three in 8:49.61.
Santa Clara went 1-2-3 in the men's 800 free. Ryan Hinshaw won in 8:15.64, holding off teammate Jackson Partin, who earned second in 8:15.97. Samuel Shimomura, 15, wound up third in 8:20.53.
