USA Swimming Sectionals, Houston: Mary Beck, Scott Jostes Win Third Titles

HOUSTON, Texas, July 18. LOST Creek's Mary Beck and Longhorn's Scott Jostes kept rolling as each secured their third titles of the meet at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Houston. The meet is taking place in long course meters.

Beck won the women's 100 back in 1:01.78, while Aggie's Megan Latone placed second in 1:03.25. Cypress Fairbanks' Ellen Lobb took third in 1:04.36. Jostes snatched the men's 100 back title in 55.34. Cypress Fairbanks' Neil Caskey (57.46) and Cole Cragin (57.59) completed the top three.

Sun Devil's Jordyn Green cruised in the women's 200 breast with a winning time of 2:32.76. Tiger's Kannon Betzen finished second in 2:38.86 with Pack's Erica Dittmer claiming third in 2:39.20. Blue Tide's Ben Decker won the men's 200 breast in 2:18.81. Aggie's Bryan Snowden placed second in 2:21.48 with Tiger's Nathan Telep touching just behind with a third-place 2:21.70.

In middle distance action, The Woodlands' Erin Foster won the women's 400 free in 4:17.51. First Colony's Colleen Gordon touched second in 4:18.98, while The Woodlands' Gabby Maddalena took third in 4:19.40. William Norton, swimming unattached, topped the men's 400 free in 4:03.41. Cypress Fairbanks' Ross Johnson (4:03.83) and Andrew Keily (4:04.53) rounded out the podium.

The Woodlands' Kelsey Amundsen snared the women's 100 fly title in 1:01.96. Lobb picked up her second medal of the night with a silver-winning 1:02.36, while Longhorn's Brie Powers placed third in 1:02.49. Tiger's Hannes Heyl captured the men's 100 fly in 54.16. Longhorn's Andrew Wang took second in 55.42, while Bernal's Gator's Matt Harris finished third in 55.74.
