INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, July 8. IN a special feature time trial, SwimMAC Carolina's Mark Gangloff added the 50 breast American record to the 100 breast mark he claimed last night.
Gangloff, with Auburn teammates Michael Silva and Adam Klein bracketing him, clocked a time of 27.34 in the sprint breast. The swim, while well off the global mark of 26.89 set by Brazil's Felipe Silva in May, cleared the oldest American men's record off the books. Gangloff's time eclipsed Ed Moses' 27.39 set in March 2001.
Silva (27.80) and Klein (28.26) posted some pretty quick times from lane three and five, respectively.

July 8, 2009 Nice try; he needs work on his start and breakout. btw, do the 100 winners/2nd automatically get to swim the 50s at worlds? Submitted by: liquidassets
July 8, 2009 Doesn't count. Moses didn't have a suit. His time would have been 26.39, which Gangloff did not approach. BS Submitted by: butterfrog
July 8, 2009 No I'm glad you brought it up; I'm sure it's a big factor of that's what he's wearing. Even he seemed surprised.
By the way sorry I'm having trouble with both my work and home computer that keep posting things multiple times; also posting to the wrong story. I've noticed some other people have on here too. Not sure what the problem is. Submitted by: liquidassets
