BELGRADE, Serbia, July 6. IT doesn't happen often in the sport of diving, but someone hailing from outside of China stood atop an international event podium during the World University Games tonight.
Mexico's Paola Milagros Espinosa cruised in the women's 10-meter platform finale with 354.45 points for the victory. China's Chen Ni placed second with a silver-winning 339.25 points. Ukraine's Julia Prokopchuk completed the podium with a bronze-winning 338.05 points.
Americans took 9th and 12th in finals with Amy Korthauer (251.35) and Audra Egenolf (223.60) representing the U.S. this evening.
