Anyone catch Ariana Kukors 31.10 in the B-final of the 50 Breast? AMAZING for a 200/400 IMer!
May 25, 2009 Kukos also registered prs in the 400 IM (4:38.75), swam close to her pr in the 200 IM and di a career-best 31.10 in 50 breast, which was faster than the winning time (she swam in consols).

Did anyone else notice the egregious
error in the results of the women's 200 breast race?
Surely noone in their right mind could POSSIBLY believe that UCSB's Katy Freeman defeated the event's world recrd-holder/Olympic gold-medalist while swimming a pr 2:26.75 -- 26th-fastest globally for the year?
I mean, c'mon on now, April 1 was two months ago!
We're talking about not only the Olympic gold-medalist but also the quadruple NCAA hamp in this race, the ONLY woman to fourpeat and who hasn't lost a race since BEFORE her freshman year at SC.
Beaten by some Gaucho?
Someone from the Big West Conference?
Not only tthat.
This same world record-holder finished an UNBEIEVEABLE third behind Freeman and training partner Keri Hehn.
Will ceases never wonder!
I know, it's "only" the Janet Evans Invitational but a win is a win is a win...and Soni also lost the 100 breast too to ANOTHER Gaucho, Sara Nicroponski.
I thought all they did at UCSB was surf all day. Oh, their men's baskerball and volleyball teams are pretty good sometimes and their swim teams usually win the conference but that's about it.
Ex-Gaucho Jason Lezak had to become 30-something before he began making his mark.
Well when Freeman and Nicroponski make the plane to Rome we'll know Evanss wasn't a fluke.

USc's Katinka Hosszu swam a pr 2:08.26 to win the 200 fly, not too far from the Hungarian record of 2:06.71, set at last year's European Championships.
Hosszu had never been under 2:12.0 before and now ranks 15th gobally for the year.
She'll probably swim in the Hungarian Nationals later this summer but that'll just be a tune-up for Rome.
She could be a three-event finalist at the Worldd Championships (both IMs, perhas the 200 fly) and a gold -- while seemingly unlikely -- is not out of the realm of possibility.
