The Morning Swim Show: National Age Group Record Holders Highlighted; Nick D'Innocenzo Talks About Breakout Year and Future at Texas -- December 18, 2008

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 18. HIGH school swimming takes center stage on this edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Host Peter Busch starts the show with a list of high school swimmers who have broken national age group records in the United States, including two formerly held by Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin. Also in this edition is an interview with rising IM specialist Nick D'Innocenzo, who is having a breakout year after a great 200 IM at Olympic Trials and a strong showing at this month's USA Swimming nationals. D'Innocenzo talks about his swims, how he trains and what type of matchup he expects to have with rival Matt Thompson and future Stanford Cardinal Matt Thompson when D'Innocenzo begins his tenure at Texas next fall.

Also on the show is an interview with Mel Roberts, who coordinates the All-American applications for high school swimmers. He talks about the process swimmers and coaches need to take to get the times submitted for All-America status and discusses the NISCA database of all approved All-American times from the season.
