French Short Course Nationals: Flash Coralie Balmy Breaks 200 Free World Record

ANGERS, France, December 6. AT the French Short Course National Championships, Coralie Balmy took down the women's 200 freestyle world record.

Balmy clocked a swift time of 1:53.18 to blast by the 1:53.29 set by then-Libby Lenton in 2005. The time also broke the European and national record of 1:53.48 set by Laure Manaudou in 2007.

Here are the comparative splits:
Balmy: 26.98, 55.86 (28.88), 1:24.78 (28.92), 1:53.18 (28.40)
Lenton: 25.80, 54.40 (28.60), 1:23.72 (29.32), 1:53.29 (29.57)

Camille Muffat took second in 1:54.39, while Gabrielle Fagundez took third in 1:54.71.
